Exercises for your back pain can be useful and can aid in the mending process; even if you are already taking some sort of treatment for it already. If the pain you are experiencing in intense, you should certainly seek medical help, but overall, there are simple exercises you can try that can be very successful. These exercises will help maintain a fit and healthy spine that will be less likely to suffer injury later on in life.

The way that you feel can be positively influenced by doing aerobic exercises, many of which can also strengthen your back. However, when you have back pain you have to be careful about the type of exercises you do, and high impact aerobic activities should be avoided. Other things to avoid include running on a treadmill, or even simple jogging - it really depends on the condition of your back and what it can handle. Chinning bars are very common in many households and when using inversion boots, you can actually hang upside down from that. Many people find that inversion therapy is helpful in a number of ways. The realignment of your back is one benefit that you will receive. It will also help you relax as your spine naturally straightens. This can be like giving yourself a chiropractic treatment, but all you have to do is relax in this inverted position. Also, by stretching your spine out in this manner, you will actually maintain your regular height regardless of your age. Many people also believe that it promotes mental alertness by increasing oxygen to the brain.

One of the best exercise machines you can use at the gym that's gentle on your back is an elliptical trainer. Go to the store and get one if you would prefer using it at home. Due to its low impact nature, you will definitely get a thorough workout without overstraining. Unlike a treadmill or exercise bike, the motion you make is more circular and much smoother, which puts a lot less pressure on your back, as well as your knees. Your upper body, and lower body, both receive a workout. If possible, you should also try to use a step machine. These are low impact as well. Instead of using these machines, you could try aerobics. The only drawback is that aerobic workouts are high impact which could cause additional pain or injury. Elliptical and step machines are your best bet for safe and effective workouts that are gentle on your back.
